I saw this picture on the internet this morning and my childhood flashed right before my eyes. I grew up in a little village in #Liberia, West Africa, and later moved to the Buduburam camp, #Ghana. This picture depicts the childhood life of many African children with limited access to resources but passionate about an unforeseen future. I am counted as one of the many Africans that have experienced uncertainties but hope for the future. At age 7, I began to assist my grandmother by selling provisions after school to help pay my tuition and other basic needs, such as feeding. When it was time for exams, she would ask me to bring my notes to the shop and we would study together. This picture clearly states the resilience, drive, and determination of African students regardless of the unknown future. After years of hard work and #belief– after years of uncertainty and doubt, I am able to say achieving your #dreams and #aspirations start with a single step.
The big takeaway to this story is that you have to keep working towards your #goals. #Determination and #perseverance will eventually pay off. That means working hard one step at a time even if you don’t see an end in sight.
